Koulomb Launches New Public Fast EV Charging Station

With proprietary monitoring technology to ensure reliability, Koulomb launches 2 new chargers in Matthews, North Carolina

Monroe, NCKoulomb, a pioneer in premium fast EV charging, today announces a new public charging station located in the Charlotte metro area. Founded in 2021 as an offshoot of successful utility-scale solar company Pure Power Contractors, Koulomb is building a network of the most reliable and premium EV charging stations around the country. Koulomb’s EV chargers are the fastest on the market: level 3 DC chargers at 350kW+, enabling drivers to fully power up their vehicles in 15 minutes or less.

Two new public chargers have been installed at the Chestnut Arbor Shopping Center in front of popular Mario’s Italian Restaurant at 2945 Matthews Weddington Rd. in Matthews.

“Our goal is lofty but simple: we want to be the best EV charging company in the country,” said Co-founder Justin Taylor. “Koulomb’s fast EV chargers use technology from some of the most established and reputable suppliers of power equipment in the world, ensuring high performance and best-in-class uptime.”

“We’ve built a top-of-the-line product that is better than anything else on the market,” said Co-founder Jeff Constantineau. “The wave of EV drivers is coming and Koulomb will be there for them with its super-fast chargers that are conveniently located in the places people already like to work and play.”

Range anxiety and availability of functioning EV chargers are two of the challenges facing drivers today, particularly in the Southeast United States. Koulomb is breaking ground on several more Charlotte charging locations this summer and by the end of the year, the company is expecting to complete installation of at least 15 chargers in the Carolinas and Virginia, with many more on the horizon.

Outpacing what is currently on the market, Koloumb has invested heavily in proprietary monitoring technology that allows it to access real-time data on usage, energy supply, outages, and troubleshooting. The company has immediate insight into any mechanical or environmental issues and can resolve them right away, ensuring the reliability of the chargers and the safety and cleanliness of the charging stations.

Koulomb chargers are universally compatible with any EV and offer simultaneous 4-car charging, and multi-standard charging via CCS 1 and CHAdeMO (including Tesla customers via a Tesla adapter).

“Koulomb’s EV chargers are an ideal solution for shopping centers, restaurants, fleet operators, EV dealerships, municipalities, gas stations, corporations and businesses,” said Constantineau. “We offer a plug-and-play product for developers looking to add a high-quality amenity to their property.”

Additionally, Koulomb’s customers are empowered to contribute to the clean economy as the electricity generated for the chargers is offset by the company’s purchase of renewable energy credits. Future charging stations will also feature solar canopies, generating locally-sourced energy for the chargers.

Koulomb is led by a team with more than 20 years of experience in the renewable energy and electrical industry: Justin Taylor, Co-founder; Jeff Constantineau, Co-founder; Mario Fisichello, Co-founder; and Justin Coffey, CFO.
